Makeup has now become an integral part of our daily life. Make-up doesn’t necessarily mean going overboard to paint ourselves, but yes enhancing our features to give them a better finished look. Isn’t it? While makeup products do definitely add up to the looks, the hazardous chemicals used in them are quite alarming as they can damage our internal functioning completely.
Without realizing, we have daily poured hazardous chemicals onto ourselves only to be believed that we have taken care of ourselves. So instead of altering what we do on our face and skin, why not alter what we use?
There is a way to avoid the damage caused by the toxic makeup by choosing products without hazardous chemicals. A foundation or sunscreen is the base to skincare. Opting for natural ingredients like Aloe-vera could double up as a foundation and a sunscreen.
The moisturizer we use on a daily basis normally consists of chemicals such as Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) or Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT). Instead of moisturizer, deep moisture glow oils and deep moisture body oils which contain natural plant extracts or Coconut oil based product can be used.
Lipstick is one of the most widely used makeup product which contains a list of chemicals including Parabens. Instead of regular lipsticks, we can choose tinted lip balms which are chemical-free.
Mascara and eyeliner are two other commonly used makeup products used on a daily basis. When choosing these two products it is better to choose products without carbon black or Black2 which is actually Coal Tar used in most of the mascaras and eyeliners. Shocked? So were we when we discovered it.
Most of the blushes we use contain asbestos and the best alternative is to choose pigment glow creams available in the market. Brow gels can be replaced with nourishing brow lotions and oils which are chemical-free.
