Eyebrows speak a lot about one's personality, whether it is control, authority or self-confidence. Not very happy with the ways your brows have shaped up? Stop feeling low and all you need is a magic wand to make you look new with new brows this New Year. Take charge of how you look by making your eyebrows look fuller and thicker. Thinking of being your new self this New Year, come visit us at Maryamcollahi Studio for Microblading services that can transform your looks as well as your personality.
If you aren’t sure what and how microblading works – here’s a quick bird’s eye view of the procedure. Microblading is a procedure that is used to draw fine lines by inducing the pigment into the skin. This is done through the use of a hand tool fixed with needles to create strokes which resemble natural looking hair on the eyebrows. The color of the strokes is matched exactly with the natural color of the hair on eyebrows. So, shed your inhibitions and worries, if you carry, about the eyebrows looking artificial or the need to define eyebrows through pencil on a daily basis.
The powdered brows are another category that comes under semi-permanent makeup where the eyebrows are made to look perfect. The uniqueness of this technique is the powdered look of the eyebrows with natural dark coloration at the tips and lighter color at the starting of the brows.
Led by experts at the Maryamcollahi Studio, the microblading technique is the answer to your sparse or disfigured eyebrows by visibly enhancing their aesthetic looks. The procedure takes 2 hours of time and it may take 2 sessions to attain the desired result. It may take 4 weeks for the pigment to settle in the skin and eyebrows to heal. A second session is a touch-up session which follows the first session.
And there’s a little goodie associated here! Our Fall Special offer continues in the New Year too. So, get going, get rolling and do not miss out on your chance to look ravishing this New Year. Book your appointment today!

Presenting the top-trends of this year which will take you to the next year with all the oomph and ooh-la-la!
1. Radiant face
Finally, if all is well, but with a dull face, you are not really pulling off yourself well. Get glowing and wear a radiant, bright face as you enjoy the New Year’s evening. First, clean the face with cleansing milk and cover up all the dark spots and blemishes with the right concealer. Apply a foundation or tinted moisturizer on the face to create a perfect base. Make sure the foundation tone is not too different from your skin tone. Now choose a bronzer that is 1 or 2 shades darker than the natural skin tone. Apply the bronzer with a bronzer brush or wide makeup brush. First apply it in the shape of 3, from top of the face to the bottom on both sides, on the apples of the cheek, bridge of the nose, tip of the chin etc. Blend it gently to get a natural radiance. Be careful not to apply too much of bronzer as it can make the face look heavy.
2. Bright dramatic eyes
Eyes are the most visible features and making them dramatic and bright is the easiest way to dazzle on a New Year‘s evening. Bright winged eyes are the coolest thing to carry bright hot eyes. To get this look, start by applying a primer on the eyelids and around the eyes. Choose bright eye-shadow colors such as red, purple, brown etc. based on the color of your eyeballs and apply to the crease line. You can go for a lighter shade of the same color or gold, silver upwards from the crease. Apply kohl around the eye and extend it into a wing shape on the upper eyelid to create a dramatic look that can make you stand out anywhere.
3. Shimmery Lips
Let your lips do all the talking – literally! Shimmery lips will make you glitter like a star on the New Year evening. First, exfoliate the lips of dead skin and apply lip balm. Leave it on for a minimum of 10 minutes to let the lips become moist. Apply lip liner and then fill in with your favorite lip color. Bright shades of lip color such as red, brown, pink etc. would be great for New Year. Take some liquid base on to the make-up brush or cotton swab. Now dip it into your favorite makeup glitter, dab off the extra glitter and press it on the lips gently. Adding 2 to 3 layers of lip color would be great as it can intensify the lip-color and makes you shine like a star.
And here you are ready to look bright and all decked up!
Winter is the season of celebration and festive mood and it is the time to look your best! The harsh winter can take a toll on your skin by making it dry and lifeless when neglected and without proper care. You need not hit the panic button right away. Here are some tried, tested and verified ways to say goodbye to chapped skin and flaunt baby soft glowing skin during this winter.
Scrubs are good to exfoliate but they can make the skin flaky and red. So it is better to avoid scrubs during winter. However, if you feel it necessary to exfoliate your skin, appropriate scrubs and nourishment to the skin is important. You could try natural exfoliation using a mixture of olive oil and sugar, which will lend the skin the necessary glow and radiance.
Cleansing is important to retain the glow on the face. The trick here is the ensure cleaning along with moisture retention. Using sponge could damage the skin during winters. Instead you can try using cleansing with milk or an oil-based cleanser to keep the skin soft.
Moisturize your skin
Bathing in winters leaves your skin dry. No amount of moisturizer based shower gel can compensate for the extensive softening and soothing an external moisturizer can lend to your skin. So do not forget to moisturize your skin as soon as you come out of the shower. Using oil-based moisturizers is good if your skin is too dry.
Dry brush your skin
Winter amounts to a lot of dead-skin and dirt accumulation on the face. Dry brushing your face can improve the blood circulation and wipe off the accumulated dirt on the face due to pollution.
Use Serums with natural oils
Use a serum on the face which is enriched with antioxidants, vitamins, natural oils such as Calamine along with added sun protection to get a natural glow.
Keep yourself hydrated
Come winters and off you go your water quota. That’s where the damage sets in. Though one argues that with regular water intake in winters, comes the tedious task of visiting the washroom for multiple times, it is vital that the toxins are regularly flushed out.
Look what you eat!
A healthy diet can make all the difference to your skin. Fruits and vegetables rich in natural oils, vitamin E and essential nutrients, when consumed directly, or used in the form of masks, scrubs or pastes work wonders. Avocado, oranges and strawberries, carrots and lettuce are magic fruits and vegetables for the skin.
Christmas is round the corner. What’s your plan for stocking stuffers? Scratching your head as to what can be the next idea?
Here’s a unique gift for your colleague, co-worker or someone whom you’ve been waiting to present a secret stocking. A gift as unique as the receiver of it will be. A gift to make them look sexier and kill everyone in the “blink of an eye” literally! Ah ha, it isn’t what you are thinking.
How about a serum that works magic on the eyelashes? A conditioning lotion which nourishes, strengthens, adds volume and luster to the lashes and makes the eyes look heavenly and smoking hot! So here’s what you need to do. Get the EyEnvy conditioner, as the stocking stuffer for Christmas 2018 and make the person jump in joy.
But why should an eyelash conditioner be an ideal gift? Well, this is quite rhetoric. Who doesn’t love sexy, hot eyes; and the bigger question here is who doesn’t want to flaunt such eyes. Thick, nourished and silky lashes speak volumes about eyes and add a touch of glamour to the face.
Salon and spa exclusive, this product is restricted to the niche and available only to the classes and never to the masses. Gifting this as a stocking stuffer will definitely make you special and also highlight your gifting knack. The best part about this conditioner is that it can be used by anyone- whether or not wearing contact lenses and whether or not wearing extensions for the lash.
Usage of this conditioner is easy. Daily, once in the morning for normal eyes and on alternate days for sensitive eyes, the condition is applied on the skin and at the roots of the eyelash on the eyelid. One can wear contact lenses, lash extension, apply the conditioner on the brows and even apply routine makeup.
Why wouldn’t anyone want to possess eyelashes which make the world go crazy behind them? Do not miss this chance of surprising your loved ones with Eye Lash Conditioner as stocking stuffer. Make this Christmas for them, not only a happy, but a glamorous one too!
As hair thinning and hair loss have become increasingly prevalent among both men and women, and at a very young age, new treatments are being developed to find a solution to these problems. Scalp micropigmentation is one such treatment; highly innovative and totally unorthodox, but with multiple applications and largely positive results.
What is scalp micropigmentation?
Scalp micropigmentation is a non-surgical procedure that utilizes micro-fine needles to deposit or ‘tattoo’ pigments into the scalp. This cosmetic pigmentation technique, also known as the ‘hair tattoo’, uses highly advanced techniques and tattoo equipment to inject pigments into your scalp in a stippling pattern so as to create the illusion of tiny hair follicles on your scalp.
Scalp micropigmentation is usually carried out in 3 separate sessions. During the treatment, micro-fine needles inject a layer of pigment dots on the scalp and in your skin’s dermal layer. Each time a pigment dot is applied, a tiny wound is created in your skin. The wound is healed by a scab which eventually falls away but not without taking away some of the pigments along with it. This gradual fading of pigments necessitates multiple sessions so that the requisite shade is achieved. Lighter pigments are applied in the initial session while darker shades are usually reserved for the final session.
The most obvious application of scalp micropigmentation is for baldness and hairline recession because the close-knit collection of pigment dots on a completely or partially bald scalp creates the optical illusion of a head full of shaved hair. However, this treatment has a host of other applications beyond that.
Scalp micropigmentation is very effective at hiding scars and burn marks. Also, this treatment could help rectify the deformities arising from a hair transplant gone wrong. Besides, this treatment makes your hair look fuller and adds density to your hair which makes it perfect for people dealing with hair thinning.
• Scalp micropigmentation is the best alternative for people who cannot have a hair transplant or do not wish to have one.
• It is equally beneficial for people of all hair and skin types.
• Unlike most hair treatments, scalp micropigmentation requires no maintenance and has no major side effects.
• The recovery time for this procedure is negligible; you can return to work the very next day.
• It is a multipurpose hair treatment which treats some of the most common hair problems that you may face.
The success of this treatment depends upon 2 major factors – the usage of up-to-date equipment, and the skill and experience of the practitioner. Make sure you verify both these factors before you book an appointment!
Dermaplaning is arguably the hottest buzzword in skincare as of this moment. However, while there is no dearth of excitement around this procedure, there is an evident lack of information pertaining to it. Here’s all that you need to know about this treatment, how it works, its utility and its benefits.
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a treatment that involves exfoliation and removal of vellus facial hair by using a scalpel (surgical blade).
Under this treatment, an oil-based cleanser is used to cleanse your skin. The skin is then dried, after which the practitioner applies gentle strokes of the scalpel along the skin surface to peel off dead skin cells and shave off unwanted facial hair. Finally, a warm towel is placed on your face to remove excess skin and hair. The result is a smooth and clean skin, and a radiant complexion.
While it is normal for you to have reservations about the use of a surgical blade on your face, the treatment is absolutely safe; provided it is performed by a licensed professional.
Dermaplaning and shaving are totally different!
A lot of people confuse dermaplaning with shaving; the use of a blade for hair removal being the primary source of confusion. However, while the treatment does involve shaving as such, there is a lot that separates the two.
The biggest differentiator is that dermaplaning is performed to remove vellus hair while shaving is done to get rid of terminal hair. Another point of difference is that you can shave yourself but you cannot perform dermaplaning at your home by yourself. Also, dermaplaning is a far more aggressive procedure than shaving. The purpose of this treatment too is a lot broader than just rooting out facial hair; dermaplaning is essentially a skin rejuvenation treatment.
Benefits of Dermaplaning
A well performed Dermaplaning treatment provides you with a host of benefits; such as:
• It minimizes wrinkles and fine lines.
• Your skin tone and texture both stand improved.
• Products such as serums, creams or lotions yield better results for your skin.
• The treatment could be used to fight pigmentation, acne scars and sun damage over the course of time.
• Dermaplaning gives immediate results; there is no downtime.
• Cellular proliferation is your best weapon to fight ageing effects and Dermaplaning promotes this process.
• It is safe and equally useful for all skin types; even the sensitive ones.
With its ever-so-apparent benefits and utility for all skin types, it’s not hard to understand why Dermaplaning has become such a raging trend. And for all you know, this skincare trend may just go on to become a norm!

42% of the men from the age of 30 – 49 are either balding or experiencing the beginning of hair loss. These only increases with age and the receding hairlines are more and more conspicuous.
It’s true that there are many methods of treating the hair loss - from medications to transplants. The increasingly popular solution these days is – scalp micropigmentation. This is also known as hair tattoos!
In this process, micro-needles are used to tattoo the pigment into the scalp. This creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles and creates an illusion of a fuller head of hair. It adds density to the thinning areas.
Each dot that is applied creates a tiny wound. A scab is developed when the wound is healing and eventually falls away.
Sometimes however, the immune system attacks the pigments causing them to shrink. This gradual fading of the dots varies from person to person and sometimes it takes more than a few sessions to get the required shade of color.
The first session typically lasts for more than four to five hours. Additional sessions may be required to achieve the desired darkness of the pigment.
After - effects?
While most of the patients experience mild discomfort during the procedure, it becomes more tolerable as the session progresses. Some of the areas of the scalp have more denser nerve endings than others, but majority of patients focus on the benefits of the treatment rather than any discomfort they may experience.
Is it hurtful?
Scalp micro pigmentation is definitely less hurtful than regular tattoos. It is much less hurtful than hair transplant too. There are anesthetics available to numb the scalp. Some people however prefer to go through with the procedure without any.
What about recovery?
There is no recovery period following scalp micro pigmentation. Slight redness on the skin due to the tattooing may last for 24-48 hours. You can even return to work – next day. Typical time between the treatments is seven days.
There are rarely any side effects observed. Your scalp will look red and with each application the dots look darker. The tiny scabs fall as th wounds heal and you will be good to go and looking great in no time!

We have often heard poets talking about a woman’s beauty. But do we really have an idea as to how patience and time taking it is to get that flawless beauty? Look at it from a woman’s perspective and you shall know how hard it is!
They say beauty lies on the eyes of the beholder. Yes, eyes do talk but there are other elements which play a vital role in beautifying your eyes as a whole. Your brows! Confused?
Well yes, no matter how beautiful your eyes might be but if your brows is not in shape, the beauty of the eyes is absolutely incomplete. And if you are the bride-to-be and you’re getting hitched in or around June or July, oh boy, you need to start working on your brows at least 3 months prior.
Check out the following list of suggestions and start preparing your brows for your big day:
Take Vitamins. They are important
The way our body needs a certain percentage of vitamins and proteins on regular basis to keep itself healthy and glowing, same is with the hair growth. Vitamins B, B-1, B-2, iron, protein, and biotin are basic food for the hair follicle.
Drink lots of water. You need it
Yes, the old age advice to have water at regular intervals comes again. Having sufficient water intake is a must for your overall body to keep yourself hydrated and to flush out toxins.
Oils. The secret ingredient
Castor oil, Jojoba oil, and Coconut oil are the amazing mediums to boost oxidation, cleanse the skin beneath the hair follicle, hydrate the skin and make the hair growth of your eye brows smooth and bold.
Serums need patience. So does your brows
Serums are nothing but a silicone based product covering the skin beneath your hair protecting from getting damaged. It’s effects very slowly to give you the desired results. So why not use it few months prior to have those shiny and soft brows?
Forget your brows for a while
Yes, you heard it right. Let your eye brows grow on its own, it would look bad and odd, agreed. However, when you groom it after a good 4 to 5 weeks, you shall get the desired thick eyes brows the way you want it since you have enough hair by then. Try Spoolie to brush even your brows so they remain in shape from the beginning.
Try these points way before your big day arrives because you, for sure, do not want to have your beauty underestimated.

If for a while we sideline the ‘Game of Thrones’, for a normal human summer are more painful. I mean think about the extra efforts one has to put to keep the skin glowing. I’ll here particularly talk about women, as I don’t find many men being so concerned about ‘how they look.’ No offense.
A famous philosopher once said, “Her skin like the rose petals”. Well, let’s not go deep into the poetic verses and accept that what’s gentle needs special attention. To keep your skin glowing even throughout the summer, we are here to share with you the three ‘awesomest’ tricks that will undoubtedly add to your beauty.
Let’s have a look:
• Water: Water is the most important nourishment that your skin needs. Never ever let your body run low on water. Water extinguishes the thirst as well as flushes out the poisons and wastes that aggregate in the body. Treat yourself to liquids like organic product juices, green tea, coconut water and others to diminish the warmth level and keep the body cool and hydrated.
• Exfoliation: You can’t solely rely on moisturizer to remove/cure your dead skin. You need to exfoliate your skin regularly. Exfoliations help in removing the dead skin from your face and other parts of the body. You can use a sponge or a massager to scrub-off the dead skin. You can also use the homemade scrub, which can be prepared easily by mixing besan, oatmeal, and milk.
• Exercise: Keep this in your ‘not to forget’ list. Simple workouts and yoga can be exactly what you need. This will not only help you lose some extra pounds and keep your fresh but will also release toxins and make you feel energetic. The same will come in form of glowing skin.

Trends come and go – year after year, but 2017 will always be remembered as the year of the “BROW”. It was the year that saw maximum trendy brows and enthusiastic bold looks. Well shaped brows are an unbeatable accessory and if done properly, they can transform your daily makeup into something beautiful. These brow trends seem to be a part of 2018 too.
It’s important to remember that no brows are made alike and slight imperfections can make your face look elegantly natural and give you a more believable look.
The most requested brow style these days is “the bushy brows”. Well, if you aren’t naturally blessed with bold, beautiful brows, or have fallen prey to over plucking, using loads of product may not be a good option. Well, taking the hint from the trend, almost every beauty counter of every store if fully loaded with products that could give your eyebrows ‘that’ bushy look. There’s so much clutter that it is difficult to distinguish the products that work and those that don’t.
You can use techniques that could give your brows a more naturally bold and bushy look – microblading. Use techniques that you need not have to pencil in every day. Make the look a little more permanent!
It is a good idea to take advise from an expert brow artist or aesthetician and ensure that you get that trendy bushy brow look that seems to be so cool these days.
